Game Mechanics
Combat mechanics
The fight begins in first-person mode, where your opponent is right in front of you. The player who initiated the fight with the harpoon gets the privilege to choose the pre-fight conditions.
Conditions can include adjustments to hit zones, increased or decreased health points, or time limits for the fight (the player with more health at the end of the timer wins).
Players have shurikens, which are thrown with a swipe from bottom to top. The swipe’s angle and length determine the flight path. Practice your skills to throw curved shurikens that can avoid obstacles in front of you. Arrows on the sides of the screen allow side movement. Use this to your advantage, as it’s harder to hit a moving target.
Watch your stamina. When it’s low, you’ll be vulnerable to enemy hits. If stamina reaches zero, wait for it to recover fully before continuing to throw shurikens. Remember, you can’t throw shurikens with zero stamina.
Using the Shield: The energy shield can be activated by tapping the center of the battle screen. Like shurikens, the shield has a charge that gets used during activation and regenerates over time. If the charge is at zero, the shield cannot be used.
Special Abilities of Shurikens and Amulets: Depending on your gear, special abilities may activate during the fight. These abilities can increase damage or apply other effects.
QTE (Quick Time Events): During fights, a Quick Time Event may appear. Draw the suggested shape in the air faster than your opponent to activate a special effect against them.
Training in the game
You play as an experienced fighter and master of the shuriken who has entered the Temple of the Book of Blood. Your goal is to take the Book and become its ruler, but it won’t be easy. The Guardian of the Book, Karas, will not allow just anyone to take it. You must pass a series of trials and fight for the right to possess the Book.
During the tutorial, players will learn how to use their main weapon and additional tools that are necessary to dominate in battles. The competition is tough, so only the best of the best can claim the Book.
Players have a harpoon, which can be mastered to pull bystanders or experienced fighters into battle. This gives an advantage at the start of the fight by increasing health points. You can also avoid unwanted battles using a smoke bomb that creates a cloud of smoke. This lets you hide, gain an advantage with the harpoon, or escape an unwanted duel.
In combat, players can use an energy shield by tapping the screen. The shield absorbs part of the damage from enemy shuriken hits. Movement also helps players dodge incoming attacks.
During a fight, players must watch two key indicators: health points and stamina. Losing all health points means losing the duel. Stamina is important for the strength and frequency of shuriken throws. Stamina recovers over time, but health does not. Using the shield is a good way to restore stamina.
Character Progression
You start with basic gear and choose one of three starter shurikens. Each shuriken has a special ability: strength, agility, or stamina. Collect blood drops from defeated opponents, blueprint pieces for shurikens, and fabric scraps to upgrade your abilities. These upgrades unlock additional skills for your future weapons and outfits.
A variety of costumes and shurikens are available, offering advantages in battles. Painting your shurikens enhances their stats and increases the damage they deal to opponents. At the base, NPCs are ready to help you craft and restore your fighter’s stats.
Amulets are an essential part of any fighter’s gear. They activate special abilities in battles, improving player stats or providing advantages over opponents.
Some abilities include:
Lifesteal: When you hit an opponent, part of the damage is converted into health points.
Double Damage: Certain shurikens give a chance to deal double damage on a hit.
Bleeding Damage: After a hit, a percentage of the initial damage continues to affect the opponent’s health points.
Dodge Damage: Some amulets give the wearer a chance to avoid damage when hit.
These features allow players to customize their playstyle and gain an edge in battles.
